Children's Christian Formation Classes

Volunteer Opportunities for Christian Formation

Catechist (teacher) – Your choice of day (Monday-Thursday, Thursday evening). Lesson plans prepared for you, with room to expand and alter them as you need. (Approximately 45 needed depending on enrollment)

Substitute Catechist – Your choice of day. We will call if a catechist is unable to be at classes and if you are available lesson plans and activities will be provided.

Classroom Aid – Your choice of day (and catechist). Assists a catechist with lessons.

Principal – One per day. Arrives 15 minutes early to make sure the Education building is unlocked and lights are on for classes. Collects the attendance sheets and is available to assist catechists with supplies and resources in the building. Stays until students are picked up and makes sure the lights are out before locking the building.

Office Help – Periodically throughout the year there may be a mailing or other project where many hands make light work. We will call if such a project arises and most projects can be taken and done at home.

Children's Classes

Children's religion classes are held for children Kindergarten to Sixth grade on Mondays through Thursdays according to the schedule below. Our volunteer teachers and assistants (which are always needed) spend the one-hour session in lesson, prayer, and learning about our “Saint of the Week!” Each class session involves many different aspects and we consider our religion classes to be “outside the box” of traditional classroom models.

Religious Education Dismissal Procedure

Beginning on January 7, 2008, pick-up at dismissal will change.

All parents/guardians should please park their vehicles and enter the Education Center, lower level, and pick children up from their classrooms. This is being done to ensure the health and safety of the children and our volunteers.  Please do not park in the fire lanes next to the building. Rather, use the parking lots and appointed crosswalks to pick up the children.

Children will not be dismissed outside the building.  Thanks to all families in cooperating with this new procedure!
