Children's Liturgy of the Word

During the 9:00 and 11:30 Masses the children of the parish are offered the opportunity to hear and respond to the readings at their level. Children’s Liturgy of the Word offers them an opportunity to participate in the Mass by listening to the readings from the Children’s Lectionary and then exploring them through discussion, activity sheets or other creative ways.

The children are dismissed before the first reading and return for the Liturgy of the Eucharist (typically during the presentation of the gifts). During their time in CLW they are ministered to by volunteers.

The need for CLW volunteers is always great. If you would be willing to share your faith with the children of our parish during this time, talk to Don. The “lessons”, materials and guides are all provided. Training and co-teaching is always available for new volunteers.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word needs Volunteers

We are looking for more individuals (or teams) interested in teaching Children’s Liturgy of the Word at 9:00 & 11:30 Masses. Consider taking a turn every once in a while at the Mass of your choice. Our teacher list has diminished over the past year and we really need your help!

Please contact Don Smith at 248-2467, Children’s Liturgy of the Word Coordinator.

No experience necessary; just a love of children and God!
