Destiny  Looking for Two Couches

Our Teens are in need of a couple of "Gently Loved/Used" Couches. As you can imagine a room full of teens takes its toll on couches. We have had the current ones for a few years. If you can help us out please call Mo Piles at 381-4919 or e-mail at mopiles@aol.com.

Destiny

Weekly Destiny Meetings

We (high school students, freshman through seniors, from all schools) meet each Tuesday throughout the school year at 7pm until 9pm in our teen room at the end of the hall in the PLC along with Maureen Piles, (Mrs. P) our youth minister. From 7 until 7:30 is very casual conversation and relaxation. 7:30 begins our weekly discussion. All discussions (lessons) are prepared by the teens. We discuss all topics that pertain to being a teenager and how to cope with the daily issues that arise. We explore our faith each week as it pertains to these issues. It is done in a very comfortable atmosphere. It is a “safe” place where you can be who you truly are. We also have a lot of fun in the process.  “Bring a friend or come alone and make a friend.”

Destiny Service Ministry

Destiny is involved in various service projects throughout the year, preparing meals at Ronald MacDonald House, Friendly Home Pumpkin Carving in the dementia unit, canned food drive, adopting a family from the giving tree etc. We are always looking for new service projects and are open to new ideas.

Any questions, call Mrs. P at 381-4919 or e-mail mopiles@rochester.rr.com

A Sentence That Defines Who I Am
An insight into our Destiny Teens

At our last Destiny meeting, we asked the Teens to define who they are in a short sentence. Their mature responses impressed us as we know you will be too.

  • Rolls with the punches life throws.
  • Life, love, happiness, passion, friends, family.
  • I am only who I am.
  • Love, hope, successful, happy healthy memories.
  • Three little birds on my door step.
  • For the best; not for anything.
  • Plan for future; keep my self flexible.
  • Happiness is love and many children.
  • Love is watching someone die.
  • Still feel small beside the ocean.
  • Laugh, unique, dream, inspire, celebrate life.
  • Back to house at POOH Corner.
  • Fun, crazy, creative, dance, friendly, environment.

  • Do whatever makes me the happiest.

  • It can be whatever you want.
  • Never a bad experience; hope doesn’t change.
  • Let the little things pass by.

  • Love family, be kind, enjoy life.

  • Be the now-or-never kind.
  • Small things try to hurt me.
  • We’re singing a new song now

"Lord, how good it is for us to be here..."  Matthew 17
