Eucharist

The Eucharist is the center and heart of Christian life of both the universal and the local Church for each Christian.  Children in our parish are prepared to receive the sacrament through a combination of family and parish activities. Families are the primary preparers for this sacrament; the parish provides candidates with the materials necessary and the support families need to complete this task.

Preparation for the Sacrament begins in March and culminates parish-wide in May. The majority of children prepare for First Eucharist during the Second Grade. All Second Grade students enrolled in our religion programs will be contacted about First Eucharist, though celebration is not required at this time. Catholic School families must contact the Christian Formation Office if there is an interest in preparing for the sacrament.

Please note that sacramental preparation is readiness based.  All families are encouraged to assess their own readiness for the celebration of each sacrament and preparation is not based on children’s grade-level or enrollment in Faith Formation Classes. Parents should become familiar with the Guide to First Eucharist.

For weekly and daily celebration of the Eucharist, please see the Worship and Mass Times page.
