Understanding St. Paul

A Realistic Guide for Today’s Catholics

or, Knocked off his Horse, St. Paul for Dummies

April 4-6

NOTRE DAME RETREAT HOUSE

CANANDAIGUA, NY

“For we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; carrying in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies. So we do not lose heart.”

                                                                                St. Paul, 2Cor.4

Pope Benedict XVI will dedicate the year beginning in June to St. Paul, marking the 2,000th anniversary of the Apostle's birth. "The church is, by its nature, missionary; its primary task is evangelization, At the beginning of the third millennium, the church feels with renewed strength that Christ's missionary mandate is more pressing than ever,"

With fewer priests, with churches and parishes closing, with many Catholics feeling bewildered by conflicting ideas and scandals, St Paul can inspire us to stand firm and trust in the power of JESUS.
