The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process that came out of Vatican II, which brings new adult members into the Catholic Church. Based on the model used by early Christian communities, it is a time of inquiry, instruction, faith sharing, discernment and bonding with the community. Various members of the church community assist with the process as sponsors, hosts, and instructors.
If you have never been baptized, been baptized Christian in another denomination, or been baptized Roman Catholic but never received First Eucharist or Confirmation, you are a candidate for the RCIA program.
If you or someone you know would like to learn more about the Catholic faith with the possibility of joining the Church and becoming a full participant in its sacraments, please contact Fr. Mike or Margie Benza @ 248-2427 We look forward to hearing from you. What is a Scrutiny? During Lent our RCIA “elect” celebrate three scrutinies. The scrutinies are a time when we acknowledge that our world, our church, and our own hearts are in need of conversion, that sin is a part of our lives, and that God has the desire and power to purify us by the very message preached in the Gospel. As we continue to pray over the “elect” in the weeks ahead, be assured that we are praying for ourselves too. Together may we be strengthened on our spiritual journey to new life |
