Peace and Justice

Vision and Mission

Peace and Justice Ministry, through the lens of Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching, and the historical witness of the Church continues and fosters the mission of Christ. As a community called together by God, rooted in Eucharist, we are empowered by the Spirit to live a faithful life connected with and committed to walking with the suffering, poor, and oppressed. We are challenged to share our gifts and answer a call to personal conversion, structural change, compassion, and solidarity.

Within Peace and Justice, there are 4 major divisions, Advocacy, Community Relationships, Social Ministry-Parish Outreach, and Justice Formation.  Follow one of the links to the right to learn more about each of this divisions.

Building Faithful Citizenship

John F. Kennedy once said, “If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.” We are told that the measure of a country’s greatness is by how it treats its weakest members. Jesus, our King, will, in the end, judge us on how we help the poor, not only as individuals but as a nation.

With new leaders elected and preparing to take office, now is the time to act, personally and communally, to petition them directly to make human life issues part of their top priorities. How will they protect the unborn? How will they end war and combat poverty? How will they make sure all have access to quality health care, education and employment? Will these new leaders work to establish a spirit of solidarity between all nations and ethnic groups? Will they protect our environment and conserve our natural resources?
