Searching for a rewarding evening of ministry? Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (RAIHN) assists homeless families during their housing crisis by providing temporary shelter, meals and assistance in finding employment and affordable housing. Churches and synagogues open their doors on a rotating basis to host these families. On any given night, there are 100 homeless families in Rochester alone! Did you know the average age of homelessness in Rochester and in the US is nine years old? This ministry provides a transition for families that have temporarily lost their housing. Volunteers can prepare a meal, share that meal and /or provide overnight support. A great opportunity for family participation to help the less fortunate. The host facility is just around the corner in East Rochester. If you are interested or need more information contact John Greve at 385-7514 or jgreve@rochester.rr.com. You can also call the RAIHN Day Center @ # 506-9050. |
