Saint's Place Joint Ministry | ||
|
Saint's Place was started in 1998 at St. Louis Church, in conjunction with Catholic Family Center, as part of CFC's refugee resettlement program. Our parish has agreed to participate in this joint community ministry with St. Louis. Volunteers are needed to pick up and deliver donations, organize and sort household goods and clothing, and provide tutoring to newly arrived refugee children. Bulletin announcements inform our parishioners of the current needs of Saint's Place. Saint's Place Mission Your support allows us to fulfill our mission of assisting legal refugees to get a fresh start in a new country. This is a daunting task but we manage to assist about 500 refugees a year. How do we do this? We are able to accomplish much of this by your generous donations but we do need to purchase those items not donated, e.g. beds, pillows, underwear, etc. We use the proceeds from the sale to purchase these items as well as to pay for the costs of running our ministry, including operating our van and for the rental of warehouse space Saints Place is in need of drivers/movers to help move furniture. If you are able to provide some help, please call Michelle at 385-6860. Coordinator: To Be Determined
