….to everyone who made Vacation Bible School such a great success this summer. Using the theme of Set Sail with the Holy Trinity over 100 of our young parishioners had a fun, educational and refreshing experience of Church; and along the way they had the opportunity to meet St. Patrick. VBS can only be a success with the help of many, many volunteers who feed the kids, instruct in the ways of faith, help our young friends learn a few songs and organize just plain old fun activities. All of this is done under the creative and careful eye of Vicky Rippel, our Formation Associate Director. Of course, we have to thank the Holy Spirit for her guidance.
….to all our volunteer gardeners who maintain our flower gardens, which are looking beautiful this summer. Many hours are spent weeding, fertilizing and watering (not too much this year). We have had many compliments on our lovely campus landscaping. Of course, I must thank the anonymous shopper who found inexpensive lawn furniture for us, adding to the homey feel of the campus. Yes, our Creator, God, did a nice job giving all this beautiful creation to enjoy.
….to our Community Garden members who have already supplied many pounds of food to local soup kitchens and food cupboards. I can’t give you an exact number right now, but having wandered around the garden a few times we are sure to do well in sharing many more pounds of food to our brothers and sisters around the community who need a little assistance.
….to the members of the Buildings and Grounds Committee and many other parishioners who have appropriate expertise and who have already given many hours to help come up with a solution for our deteriorated HVAC duct system. Without their professional guidance we would have great difficulty finding a solution. They take very seriously the fact the “WE” have a major problem. ……
Thank you one and all!
There is the old expression “it takes a community to raise a child”, I would modify that to say, “it certainly takes a community to run a parish!” Please continue to enjoy the summer!
Let us continue to pray for peace and for the end of terrorism in our world!
In peace and courage,
