Dear Friends,

I am pleased to announce we will begin having Mass in church beginning next weekend and will follow the normal summer schedule of 4:30 PM, 9:00 and 11:00 AM.  You will receive a letter via USPS with the details of what to expect.  Please read the letter carefully, you will be required to registered for the Mass you wish to attend, complete details how to register are in the letter.  We are excited to see and worship with you again!

I have had parishioners ask how they be missionary from home during these days of social isolation.  Here are three ideas that I suggest.

Pray – set time every day to have a conversation with God. Throughout the day, talk to Jesus. Simply say an Our Father or even the prayer taught the children in Fatima, “My God I believe, I adore, I hope and I love you! I ask pardon of you for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love you!” These little prayers will draw our hearts and minds closer to God.

Bring love and joy to the family– spend time with your parents, brothers, and sisters! Pray together, eat meals together, play games together, laugh together, etc.; doing so while appropriately social distancing.

Make holy the work that God has given each of us - All the work we do throughout the day at home whether it be work, schoolwork, chores, games, etc., do it with love and offer it to God. Quoting St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, “Do small things with great love.

Now let me turn the page to some Global Solidarity Ministry (GSM) News and New Donation Procedures here at the Church of The Transfiguration.  Please read this important information on how to donate to our ministry currently serving San Esteban, El Salvador.  In light of recent communication with Bishop Matano, the GSM requests that all future financial support of the work be sent directly to Food for the Poor, please do not send it to the Parish Office.  Here are two ways to give that will ensure that your contributions will go directly to our fund for our projects. Write a check directly to Food for the Poor and write Transfiguration SC147734 in the memo line.  Mail the donation directly to: Food for the Poor, Church Alliances, Attn: Kitty Soriano, 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, FL  33073

Use a credit card by going to our Champion Page on the Food for the Poor website. The link is: https://champions.foodforthepoor.org/fundraiser/2680494 Food for the Poor assures us your donation will be in a special category so you should not receive numerous follow up solicitations.  Stay tuned many more detail of our new mission will be forthcoming.  THANK YOU!

I look forward to seeing around the Altar.

Let us continue to pray for and take action to bring about peace in our world!

In peace and courage,
