Dear Friends,
Hopefully, this past week had your favorite football team win!
Yes, I was rooting for the Bills on Saturday in that frigid night. Yes, let me repeat, I was cheering on the Bills. Friends of mine though were cheering for different teams between Saturday and Sunday. Isn't that how it goes??? Well, we look ahead to the next games and see where we will be for our 2022 Super Bowl!!! Have your colors ready!!!
I really regret to even write this, but Lent will be before us before we know it. Ash Wednesday is March 2nd.
Our two Parish Staffs came together last week to discuss the season of Lent. This year we will be doing some new celebrations between the two faith communities. We will be sharing the celebrations soon so you can mark your calendars. Do know, all our liturgies will be prayerful and with the best of intentions for each one of us.
Our Cluster Committee, made up of wonderful individuals from the Church of the Transfiguration and Saint Catherine of Siena continue to meet. Someone recently asked why they are still meeting. Well, to be direct, because this fine group of individuals are still an attentive gathering. They continue listening to the pulse of our growing life as clustered parishes. They bring before us a voice and prayer of what is occurring during these transitional times.. I hope and pray you trust their wisdom as we continue to mature as two faith communities clustering together. If you have any concerns, please contact me. Or contact any member of the Cluster Committee listed below.
A very long tradition at Saint Catherine of Siena is to offer a play. It began many years ago and happens around this time of year. Last year because of COVID it did not take place. This year, enthusiastic thespians are planning a show entitled "The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux". If you have never been to a performance, you do not know what you’re missing. The theatrical group is so energetic and puts on a great performance.
Shows this year are being offered February 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 8PM in the Schnacky Community Center at Saint Catherine's. There will be a matinee on February 12th at 1 PM. Tickets are $12. You can arrange for tickets by calling Patrick Ashley at 585-257-8809 or visiting www.mscptheater.org.
I have been honored to be part of the performances since I arrived to Saint Catherine's. My brief and humble appearance was always invited and at the end of the show.
This year I will not be part of the show. I want to thank everyone who has always applauded this thespian in past years and encourage your support for this year's production! The group is taking necessary precautions for everyone's health. Please check their website for safety precautions.
Blessings to all,
Father Rob
