Lord, how good it is for us to be here -- Matthew 17

Reconciliation

Reconciliation is celebrated weekly on Saturday before Mass or by appointment (contact Fr. Rob at 248-2427).

Reconciliation is the Sacrament where we are able to praise God for God’s merciful forgiveness. It is the parish’s joy to celebrate the Sacrament with anyone who is ready.

First Reconciliation – Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation is completed PRIOR to First Communion (around 2nd grade). This helps the communicant to approach the altar free of stress that comes with sin in our lives. Even when we do not realize consciously the wrongs we need forgiven, they pile up. By celebrating in the second grade, we hope to expose the children to this Sacrament in a way that encourages them to regularly seek and celebrate God’s mercy. In no way does this age limit it to only 7 years old – all who seek this Sacrament are welcomed.

The preparation process begins with an information meeting in the spring prior to the year of receiving and the sacrament is celebrated in Advent.  Additional information can be found HERE.

For more information, or to be put on an interest list to receive updates as preparation draws closer, please contact Meg Kastner or Karen Luke via e-mail or in the Formation Office (248-2427).
