Lord, how good it is for us to be here -- Matthew 17

Reconciliation

Everyone say... ‘When was the last time I went to confession?’ And if it has been a long time, don’t lose another day! Go, the priest will be good. And Jesus, (will be) there, and Jesus is better than the priests - Jesus receives you. He will receive you with so much love! Be courageous, and go to confession.”

--Pope Francis

Reconciliation is celebrated weekly on Saturday, 3:30 pm, before Mass at the Church of the Transfiguration or by appointment (contact Fr. Rob at either Parish office).

Reconciliation is the Sacrament where we are able to praise God for God’s merciful forgiveness. It is the parish’s joy to celebrate the Sacrament with anyone who is ready.

Children in grades 2nd and higher will prepare for Reconciliation in October & November and celebrate in December.

First Reconciliation preparation for children is an opportunity for the children of our parish to explore their relationship with Jesus and how that relationship may need some work. Through admitting our shortcomings and sins, we are strengthened to make our relationship more fruitful.

The children preparing for the Sacrament explore:

  • Our person gifts and how to make choices to better follow Jesus.
  • How and why we change our hearts when necessary.
  • Forgiving one another.
  • Accepting forgiveness and sharing our gifts.

It is the goal of the program to help the children appreciate more fully that God gives us forgiveness because he loves and cherishes us. The Sacrament is a celebration of that great love and the focus of the preparation is on that reconciliation.

The preparation process begins with an information meeting in the spring prior to the year of receiving and the sacrament is celebrated in Advent.  Additional information can be found HERE.

For more information, or to be put on an interest list to receive updates as preparation draws closer, please contact  Karen Luke via e-mail or call either parish office.
