Dear Friends,

I want to thank everyone for the prayers for last week’s Boston Marathon! It was a beautiful day and everything went smoothly!

As I have mentioned, now being a volunteer for 38 years and spending 36 years at the finish line, I am so privileged to witness these great athletes. The stamina of runners in wheelchairs, those who are blind, those who have prosthesis for legs and some even with arms, and those who have the use of their legs are so amazing!   I am always with chills to be able to witness these phenomenal individuals.  Hopefully, I’ll continue to be a volunteer in the future.

This week I would like to share a note of gratitude from the Realbuto family.  I believe Ryan is a Saint among all Saints and Jesus Christ! May we continue to pray for his beloved parents, Janet and Pippo and his beloved  brothers, Christian and Evan.

The family of Ryan Realbuto would like to thank the parish communities of the Church of the Transfiguration and St. Catherine of Siena for the outpouring of kindness, love, and support as we walk through this journey of deep loss and sorrow.  We appreciate the prayers, cards, Mass cards, meals, presence at the wake and funeral Mass, generous donations to the charities that Ryan cared about and touched his life, and all of the many ways you have supported our family.  We are so blessed and grateful to be part of such a caring faith community.

The Church of the Transfiguration was home to Ryan.  So much of his spiritual growth took place through the community he was fortunate to have at this parish.  We are grateful to all who had an impact on his life.  He enjoyed many years of singing in the choir, volunteering at VBS, participating in youth group, attending retreats, NCYC, and volunteering during the summers at Bethany House through the immersive program with the Sisters of St. Joseph. We remain grateful that Ryan got to enjoy these experiences that made him the beautiful person he was.

My friends, may we continue to celebrate and embrace the Risen Life of Jesus Christ, with one another.

With faith and blessing,

Father Rob
