Dear Friends,

This weekend we will celebrate the Third Scrutiny with our Candidate, Huntley Hendrick, and our Catechumens, Braiden and Summer Powell!  I will be honored to join them, alongside yourselves, as they are presented with the Lord’s Prayer.

These three wonderful people bless me each time I am in their presence with their smiles and acknowledgement of their joys in looking forward to Full Communion in the Roman Catholic Church.  Huntley, Braiden and Summer will bless each and every one of us at our Easter Vigil with the celebration of our most Sacred Paschal Mysteries! I invite you to not only keep them in prayer now, as we approach our Holy Week, but I pray you will join me in welcoming them fully into our church and faith communities at the Easter Vigil.

Another joy in my weekend worship with you is the blessing of our children at the 8:45 AM and 10:45 AM masses. We have been sending forth our young ones with dedicated stewards to break open the Sacred Scriptures that we share at our weekend masses. The children are excited, anxious and a gift to behold!  We have returned this blessed moment after our recovery from those days of Covid.  Thank you to all who lead these precious lives in your sharing the Word of God!!!

AND, it is time to pray about and discern being a candidate for our Parish Pastoral Council.

It is hard to believe that I was blessed to be named Pastor of the Church of Transfiguration four years ago along with my Pastorship at Saint Catherine of Siena. I  am so fortunate and realize this every day when I wake up.  My prayer and hope is that I am being faithful and doing my fervent best to serve the great congregations of both parishes.  Like you, I am not perfect, but I place myself before the Lord each day asking that I will serve in my vocation where I am called.

We have had a good year of transition with having one Parish Pastoral Council. The representation of folks from each parish has been a reflective grace where the Lord is leading us in being One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic, as sisters and brothers. I thank those who have served this past year. Please know, how much I appreciate each of you and your willingness to be patient with me and pray alongside me.

Now is the time to  look forward.

Each parish is asked to nominate individuals (you can nominate yourself)  for the coming year, 2025 – 2026. From each parish’s pool of nominations, two folks will prayerfully be chosen with one alternate. Please pray about yourself, are you willing to serve in this stewardship role? Please pray and perhaps invite someone you believe to be a good candidate and ask them if you may nominate them?   The nomination form is in this week's bulletin, which can be accessed on our website if you do not have a paper copy.

As the Body of Christ, you and I are so blessed to be a member of Saint Catherine of Siena and the Church of The Transfiguration.  I am in awe of the countless blessings that are bestowed upon our two parishes. I have peers who are in awe of what we have and the potential we can  be together in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ!

Please consider the invitation to be considered a Candidate for Parish Pastoral Council.

If you have any questions, please ask me.

Bless you all and know I thank the Lord for YOU,

Father Rob
