Lord, how good it is for us to be here -- Matthew 17

Dear Friends,

I love all four seasons, and I understand some  of you do not.  Nonetheless, summer always passes by at the same pace as do the other three seasons.  For years I have always noticed around August 12th, (just happens to be my natal day) that some trees allow themselves to have their leaves let go of the color green and begin to turn into reds, yellows, oranges, and other variations.

Is this a sign of the next season?

I understand that the season of fall does not begin officially until September 22nd.   I am going to hold to that.  Damn the chrysanthemums. Hold back on your buds and wait till I am ready!

This summer has been extremely hot and all of us have been trying to keep up with our watering for our gardens, flowerpots, etc., which has really been a full- time attention.  I am not complaining, but as I say, making an “observation”.  I cannot help but think of all who are battling fires in neighborhoods throughout our nation.

Yes, I count my blessings and pray for everyone who is not as fortunate as myself, and yourselves.

Let’s continue to pray for care of our creation and all our sisters and brothers throughout this great world God has given us!

SO, what do you think?

Portugal, England, Scotland, France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Australia, Canada, and…..

Some folks have gathered together and thought about a trip to wherever among parishioners who might like to share an adventure!  What would be your top three choices for a destination? How much time would you want to travel?  We are looking at the fall of 2026.

If interested, let me,  (fr.rob.bourcy@dor.org), Pam Notebaert (psnotebaert@gmail.com) and Charlene Merrill(charmerrill12@gmail.com) know your thoughts.  Please reply before the first week of September!

Blessings to all,

Father Rob
