Lord, how good it is for us to be here -- Matthew 17

Dear Friends,

As you will see in this issue of the bulletin, the Men’s Retreat took place on August 9 – 10.  I was so pleased to join men from our two faith communities and have these 24 hours for prayer, reflection and fellowship.  Notre Dame Retreat House in Canandaigua was a perfect setting.  Father Ed Palumbos led us in a great day for reflection and contemplation of the Eucharist in our lives.  If you were not able to join us this year, perhaps you will next year. I hope so!

Our August days are flying by. I have always held onto summer as long as possible. Our young people are already back to college and university and our children are getting ready to return to their education after Labor Day, reminding us of how quickly the seasons move ahead.  Nonetheless, Labor Day does not mean the end of summer! I believe the summer season isn’t officially over until later September.  Let us enjoy our blessings of the remaining summer and those we are fortunate enough to share it with.

Holding onto summer, I am planning to take some time away in New England from August 26th through Labor Day week. Whatever the season, I find much joy, peace and renewal when I am fortunate enough to be there.  You will be with me in prayer and please keep me in yours.

I want to end with a heartfelt thank you to everyone who sent me cards and well wishes on my birthday. It is a gift to have another birthday to acknowledge among so many wonderful people as yourselves!

Be well and God Bless,

Father Rob
