Lord, how good it is for us to be here -- Matthew 17

Dear Friends,

Just a brief greeting this week.

I do love pictures and wanted to share a couple more from Vacation Bible School. One day of the “Around the World in 5 Days” the young people learned about the country of Turkey and Saint Nicolas. A cratf project was making individual miters for the children to wear perhaps like Saint Nick! Well, when I saw them, I thought of Pope Francis who just made 21 new Cardinals for the church. These children are just as “elevated” and appreciated by the church! Another picture is of the mass we celebrated together on Wednesday of VBS. It was a blessed gathering indeed!

This past week the work of the Lord continued as our teens joined Anne Gallagher for a week of service with the Sisters of Saint Joseph in the city of Rochester. Our teens spenttime serving at Daystar, a daycare for medically fragile infants and toddlers. They also experienced living in community with the sisters and learning about Catholic Social Teaching. Some “alumni” from years past came to join them. I had dinner with them Monday night. We are surrounded by some mighty fine disciples of the Lord.

And finally, one more picture of a picture. I had the honor of baptizing three special children who are siblings. Two are twins and in our preparations they felt comfortable being baptized entering the font. Newly baptized Katherine drew a picture of herself, her brother, Christopher and myself in the font. I was impressed with the beautiful drawing and the thoughƞulness of this gift!

July has certainly gifted me with the presence of many fine young people. I am blessed.

Hope your blessings are abundant,
Father Rob
