Dear Friends,
This day I’ m going forward with Pope Francis, with thoughts of how I am a “Pilgrim of Hope”.
Among the thoughts that I carry are remembrances of the sisters and brothers who have been welcomed home to eternal life this year: John, Mary, Stephen, Dick, J.R., Ange, Barbara, Paul, Phil, Mark, Helen, Dorothy, Lorraine, Gary, Rita and many others.
I have been blessed to honorably preside at the funeral liturgies of these sisters and brothers, all since the beginning of February. I always try to be present to my sisters and brothers who invite me to share in celebrating their beloved’s life on earth, and new eternal life. This has been a busy year of acknowledging our belief of Easter!
Yes, in my Lent, and yours too, we have been invited to reflect on the promises of what this season is all about. Our faith gives us an early taste of Easter’s hope when we celebrate our loved ones eternity. We are blessed to accompany them, because of their faith, to a well-deserved early Easter.
As we celebrate an ongoing journey with one another these Lenten days, please support me in my prayer for you, our beloved who have encountered their eternal Easter, and for the peace, liberation and salvation of all God’s beloved children.
Blessings,
Father Rob
