Dear Friends,

It seems I just spoke about our welcoming the month of May and now we are near its completion.  This coming Monday we celebrate our nation’s Memorial Day.  We gratefully, as Americans, recognize the commitment of America’s military services, honoring those who lost their lives while defending their country.

Citizens of our great nation remember these faithful men and women in many ways. Many towns have parades and ceremonies on Memorial Day and some events conclude with a memorial service.  It is a day to proudly show our American flag. It is an opportunity to thank a veteran(s) we personally know, one we might recognize by their dress or their sharing of their service to our nation.

This is a time for all of us to remember in our personal prayers those who sacrificed their lives, for those who are veterans, for those who currently serve in our Armed Forces and for their families and friends. Let us pray for the safety of all and for peace in our nation and throughout the world.

If you are in town, please know there will be a mass offered on Memorial Day at 9 AM. It will be at Transfiguration.

God Bless those who gave their lives in service to our nation, for our veterans and for our nation.

I want to thank all the generous “green thumbs” who have volunteered their time to address our gardens and grounds at both Saint Catherine of Siena and Transfiguration. These stewards are amazing. Our gardens and grounds don’t just take care of themselves. These members of our congregations make this beauty and produce come about by their own care for our creation.  God Bless them all!

I want to continue my thanks to everyone who joined us Pentecost Sunday for our celebration. The picnic was filled with great food and our prayer enhanced the joy of being blessed by the gifts of the Holy Spirit! It has been a glorious Easter Season with the goodness of so many from our Parish Staffs and congregations! God Bless each and everyone of you!

Finally, one more note of thanks to Bob Gruber.  Bob, once again designed and created a beautiful piece of furniture that was raffled to support Saint Catherine’s.  His generosity is abundant and so gracious and he made George Wallace very happy to be the winner this year of his donation. Bob, words cannot express enough gratitude for your gift of Time, Talent and Treasure. God Bless you!!!

So, my friends, may this Memorial Day find us grateful for what it remembers, and grateful for all the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are generously bestowed upon us by the Lord!

God Bless you and celebrate your joys,

Father Rob
