Dear Friends,

This Monday, we celebrate Veteran’s Day. It is a Federal Holiday and our Parish Offices, like many others in our community, will be closed in honor of our veterans.  May we remember, in prayer and our hearts of gratitude, the great service our sisters and brothers have offered for the freedom we know. This freedom, by their sacrifices, has been generously given not only to our nation but throughout the world.  Let us stop on Monday and prayerfully thank those who gave their lives while in service of our nation, those who have died since their military service, and the veterans we are still blessed to have among us.

God bless them!

As many of you know, our Parish Offices have some new life added. We are blessed recently with three new individuals who have joined us at Saint Catherine of Siena and the Church of the Transfiguration.  Shauna Gilroy is the Parish Secretary at Saint Catherine of Siena. Several of you have had the pleasure of meeting her and being greeted by her wonderful smile and welcoming spirit!

Katie Mulcahy is serving our two parishes in the role of Business Manager. Katie brings her expertise to assist us and Dan Hofford, our Finance Director,  in the daily financial operations of our parishes. Her office is at Transfiguration, and if you have the opportunity to be there, stop in and introduce yourselves.

Someone  so many of us have known for some time has joined our Staff as well.  Ben Cutter, a lifelong parishioner of Transfiguration, is now our Facilities Manager, serving both churches! This young man has a plethora of knowledge and experience that will aid our campuses in smooth operation. We are so fortunate and blessed to have Ben, Katie and Shauna working beside our wonderful Parish Staff! Their presence adds to the great spirit, prayer and mission of our parishes!

This weekend, we are welcoming at Saint Catherine’s a speaker from Catholic Charities. Two weeks ago Karen Dehais spoke on behalf of Catholic Charities at  Transfiguration.  Alex Turner will complement Karen’s sharing on behalf of Catholic Charities sharing how their organization benefits from our CMA donations. Catholic Charities has regional offices/agencies throughout the 12 counties of our diocese serving the poor, elderly, infirm, and the most vulnerable in our communities. We welcome Alex and are grateful for his time at our 5:30 mass on Saturday and 10:45 on Sunday.

At Transfiguration this weekend, we welcome Sarah Gargano, a high school senior and Transfiguration parishioner.  Sarah will also be speaking about the good things that your CMA donation supports.  She has attended the National Catholic Youth Conference and will share how this experience has built her faith.

If you haven’t joined myself and the other 234 Donors from our parishes as of this writing (November 3), please prayerfully consider a pledge in assisting us in reaching our two parish goals.  Thank you so much to those who have made a pledge. I am very grateful for your generous stewardship and participation.

Blessings to all,

Father Rob
