Lord, how good it is for us to be here -- Matthew 17

Dear Friends,
This Sunday we will celebrate Saint Francis’s love for all creation and particularly animals. After our 10:45 AM mass at St. Catherine’s . we will have a special blessing for our pets. With that invitation last weekend, we asked all to bring a picture of your pet to mass since we cannot have all our pets attend. Sheriff David Friedlander of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department will join us with his new horse, Clyde. Mark Gilbride of Saint Catherine’s will join us with one of his alpaca’s named Camacho. They will be outside of St. Catherine’s church where we will invite you to join them with your pet picture and a special prayer/blessing. After our prayer the Balloon Ministry will sponsor refreshments on the porch. Everyone is welcome from both of our faith communities. I hope to see you there!

By now, all registered parishioners from Saint Catherine of Siena and the Church of the Transfiguration should have received a letter from Bishop Matano and myself addressing this year’s Catholic Ministries Appeal. The theme this year is “I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS”. It speaks to us during our Eucharistic Revival of the beautiful gift we have and know in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The Lord Jesus lovingly offers Himself to us in our reception of communion. Both of our faith communities have seen a decrease in this year’s goal/responsibility. This certainly is good news for us. Goals/responsibilities are calculated from parish 2021 mass attendance, 2021 collections, the number of 2022 registered households and the 2021 Median Income provided by the U. S. Census Bureau.
Catholic Ministries Appeal (CMA) goals are established to ensure we can adequately and accurately plan for and fund the many charitable ministries and vital services to all parishes throughout our 12 county Diocese.

Please join me and our Parish Finance Ministries in prayerfully making a pledge to this year’s CMA. Each gift helps our own parish to make its goal. As in the past, if we do not reach our goal, we will have to contribute the deficit from our individual parish savings. I pray and hope that this year both, Saint Catherine of Siena and the Church of the Transfiguration will make their goals.
If you did not receive your letter it should be coming soon. We can also provide you with a copy and the envelopes for your gift.

Thank you for your support! You are in my daily prayers. Please keep me in yours.

Blessings to all,
Father Rob
