Dear Friends,
As I write this article (October 21st), I am very grateful for everyone who has joined me thus far in making a pledge to this year’s Catholic Ministries Appeal. Saint Catherine is at 20.40% of its goal and the Church of the Transfiguration at 23.59% of its goal. 63 stewards from Saint Catherine’s and 111 stewards from Transfiguration have gotten us this far at the moment. Again, thank you to the 174 generous pledges.
I humbly ask the other members of our faith communities to prayerfully make a pledge to support your sisters and brothers, our parishes and diocese. The CMA funding supports us, and the wider community.
This weekend we welcome speakers to both parishes. They will be addressing the benefits they personally have seen with the funds from the Catholic Ministries Appeal. Nancy Johnstone will share with us at Saint Catherine’s the impact CMA brings to her Prison Ministry and Karen Dehais will share with us at Transfiguration the impact CMA brings to Catholic Charities.
Both of these wonderful women bring before us the graces, blessings and benefits that our support offers to their good works! Thank you, Nancy and Karen, for being with us this weekend!
Next weekend, as noted in the bulletin, we will have masses remembering our beloved who have died. Over the past year, and most recently, I have been honored to be alongside so many of you as we pray for our beloved who have journeyed home to eternal life with our Lord. I keep them and you in my prayer. Hopefully, you will be able to join me at one of the masses at our parishes. Check this bulletin as to what will happen at each parish.
Halloween is this coming Thursday. May your costumes be fun and your treats abundant! Keep safe and after Halloween ends I hope to see you on All Saint’s Day for our “Let’s Taco “Bout the Saints” dinner and mass!
God Bless us all,
Father Rob
