Dear Friends,
The Men’s Fellowship of Transfiguration invited the men of Saint Catherine’s to join them on Monday October 17th.
It was a wonderful gathering and several men from Saint Catherine’s accepted the invitation. After some refreshments, there was a good video shared addressing Eucharistic Renewal.
Last week in her bulletin article Karen Luke shared a quote from Pope Francis that I believe correlates to the gathering of the Men’s Fellowship.
Pope Francis said “I think this is truly the most wonderful experience we can have: to belong to a people walking, journeying through history together with our Lord, who walks among us! We are not alone; we do not walk alone. We are part of the one flock of Christ that walks together.”
I appreciate how our two parishes have been welcoming of one another. I pray our communities will continue to thrive and grow in the life of our Lord.
Thank you to all the men who prepared the evening and brought us together!
Speaking of Karen, I hope everyone had the chance to read her article. Karen shared all the wonderful things that she, Anne Gallagher and Vicky Wejko are offering our parishes through their Faith Formation Programs. We are certainly blessed to have these three women ministering on our Parish Staffs. Thank you Karen, Anne and Vicky for all you do!
Mother nature was very generous last Saturday night. Again, Karen, her daughter Emma and several parishioners spent the night sleeping in their cars. They participated in A Night Without A Bed to raise monies to bring awareness of homelessness in the Greater Rochester area thanks to Family Promise. God bless these stewards who gave of their personal comfort to witness to such a worthy cause!
Tuesday we begin the month of November with the celebration of All Saint’s Day. On this Holy Day of Obligation we will offer two masses. At 9 AM, mass will take place at Saint Catherine of Siena and at 7 PM, mass will take place at the Church of the Transfiguration.
Let us rejoice in all the men, women, youth and children, blest in the eyes of the Lord, who celebrate the heavenly liturgy. These Saints stand in God’s holy place and sing of the love the Father has bestowed upon them for all eternity. I hope you will be able to join us at one of our masses.
Have a safe and fun Halloween and a blessed All Saint’s Day!
With faith and love,
Father Rob
