Dear Friends,

Hopefully by now, you have received a letter from Bishop Matano and myself addressing this year’s Catholic Ministry Appeal.
I really like the theme “Go Forth With Christ!” This theme builds upon our parishes current theme of “Strengthening the Vine.”
Together we are called upon to support, build upon and nurture our Church and its wider community through the many ministries that make our Diocese of Rochester fruiƞul and vibrant. This initiative certainly reflects our willingness as faithful stewards to “Go Forth With Christ” in living our baptismal life.

Looking below these few words I am sharing this week, you will see many of the wonderful things that happen because of those who support the CMA. I am inviting each of you to prayerfully discern a commitment to the CMA and support your parish (Saint Catherine of Siena or The Church of the Transfiguration). Each parish has it’s own personal goal. Both goals this year have decreased, to which I am sure no one objects.

Last year Saint Catherine of Siena made its goal. They worked hard to achieve their goal after a few years of not making it. This year I pray Saint Catherine’s does it again and also pray that as in years past, The Church of the Transfiguration will make theirs again!

Please join me in making a pledge to your parish. I have made one for both of mine. I am grateful for your support in all our efforts to be vital and supportive of the ministries that reflect the holiness and sacredness we strive to be.
It is a privilege to be among such a wonderful family of sisters and brothers.

With faith and blessing,
Father Rob

When you give to the Catholic Ministries Appeal your gift is joined with thousands of others to enable our diocesan When
community of faith to:

  • Support ministries that reach out with the hands and heart of Christ to the aged, the sick, and the imprisoned
  • Ensure we can help struggling families find their way through economic crisis and back to stability
  • Help fund the crucial work of Catholic Charities, which serves more than 250,000 people annually
  • Fund ministries that nurture children and teenagers in the Catholic faith and teaches values they'll carry into adulthood.
  • Help pay for the education of our seminarians on the road to priestly ordination
  • Prepare engaged couples for God-centered marriages rooted in the Catholic Church
  • Educate and prepare those who wish to become Catholic for the fullness of life in the Church through RCIA
  • Enable us to promote Catholic values about the sanctity of all life and make our voice heard in society
  • Fund programs that give young adults on college campuses a connection to the Church.
  • Provide important services to your parish that it would find difficult to afford on its own.

All monies raised in the CMA are only used for the programs, services and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts to the CMA are used to satisfy settlement costs associated with abuse.
