Dear Friends,

A wonderful opportunity is before our parish communities and wider community as well! It begins this very weekend. For the 43rd year the Monsignor Schnacky Community Players are putting on a play which they call a melodrama. The title of this performance is “Lumberjacks and Weddingbelles.” It is described as follows.  “What can go wrong when you try to import fine ladies from Boston to marry some rough-around-the-edges lumberjacks in the Northwest Territory? Throw in a conniving want-to-be politician and the corrupt Scrubbs family that wants to keep things the way they are, and you have a zany melodrama with great music to entertain the whole family!”

A wonderful group of actors, actresses and musicians will offer another year of great entertainment. If you have ever attended a performance in the past you know what I mean. If you haven’t been to a performance, well this is the year to come and be entertained and see popcorn fly through the air!

The dates are February 2,3,9 and 10 at 8PM. There will be two Matiness on February 4th and 10th at 1:30 PM. All performances take place in the Monsignor Schnacky Parish Center at Saint Catherines. You can purchase tickets by going to mscptheater.org or you can call Brenda Piazza at 585-257-8809. The price of the tickets are only $15 or you can get a table of eight for $12 a ticket! Beverages and snacks are available for purchase as well. Proceeds of the ticket sales benefit the charities of Saint Catherine of Siena. I’m looking forward to being in the audience and enjoying another year of being entertained!

Now that February is here, get ready for Lent! Ash Wednesday is February 14th. Keep an eye out for a mailing coming to you with all our Lenten services and activities.  Our website and bulletins will also keep you updated.

To a blessed week for all,
Father Rob
